THE CHOICE OF DRIVING AN EMISSION-FREE ELECTRIC CAR OR A CAR WITH THE CONVENTIONAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WILL SOON BECOME A MATTER OF CONSCIENCE – ACCORDING TO THE MOTTO: THE FUTURE VERSUS THE PAST.

Are you already driving on electricity or are you still burning carbon fuel? Automobilists will ask themselves this question more frequently in future. And I bet: The choice of driving an emission-free electric car or a car with the conventional combustion engine will soon become a matter of conscience – according to the motto: The future versus the past. As things are now, it is obvious that the future on our roads belongs to electric cars. All large automobile manufacturers around the world are devoted to e-mobility. None of them want to miss out on the success that the e-pioneer, Elon Musk, has been celebrating for some time with his Tesla car. As of late, the Opel Ampera E with its all-electric drive and a driving range of more than 500 kilometres per battery charge even offers e-mobility without driving range concerns. And that is good news. Why?

Because driving an electric car is fantastically relaxing and repeatedly a moment of incomparable pleasure. I have meanwhile driven a large number of electric cars and drives and have become a fan of this noiseless mode of travel. Starting at the push of a button, only a quiet humming from the electric drive when you press the accelerator pedal and a rapid acceleration from standstill that makes you forget every sports car – the sum of positive attributes of e-mobility is convincing. When the electricity also comes from sustainable sources, the feeling behind the steering wheel is almost perfect. And all that criticism about driving an electromobile would be no fun: All those who need to enrich their lives with engine noise and exhaust emissions are lacking not just fun…
