The new website by Hermès (established in 1837) for men invites you to play before doing your shopping.

THERE IS AN AGE DIFFERENCE OF ALMOST 150 YEARS BETWEEN TWO PROTAGONISTS THAT ARE SEPARATELY CONQUERING THEIR OWN NEW GROUND BUT HAVE ALSO DECIDED TO SOMETIMES PLAY TOGETHER.

Building cubist sandcastles while wearing fine fabric, beaming yourself into outer space by pulling your tie or practising dance steps in leather basketball shoes – the new website by Hermès (established in 1837) for men invites you to play before doing your shopping. The online initiative “Le MANifeste d’Hermès” turns e-commerce with a wink into a fun project that sometimes strikes you as surreal. It was created by Véronique Nichanian, the longstanding Art Director of the traditional company’s men’s collection. The platform offers men a digital shopping tour of a different kind. Before proceeding to the e-shop, men can amuse themselves with the playful compilation of Top Five Lists and To Do Lists and acquire sophisticated know-how for various situations in life by watching various videos and animated cartoons. The new electronic high-end boutique for men is available on all data media. However, this isn’t the end of Hermes’ forays into new lifestyle dimensions. The play instinct is further enkindled by a sort of joint venture in chronometry.

Apple(founded in 1984) and Hermès are currently launching the ‘Apple Watch Hermès’. Apple‘s Chief Design Officer, Jonathan Ive, said about this co-operation: “Apple and Hermès make very different products but they have the same esteem for uncompromising quality design.” Hermès’ Vice President and Creative Director Pierre-Alexis Dumas described the co-operation with Apple as a“contemporary and relevant expression of the Hermès principle to offer its customers elegant, creative and functional products”. “The combination of two top performers results in a perfect team like the horse and the carriage,” continued Dumas. The stylish smartwatch comes in Hermès ‘Single Tour’, ‘Double Tour’ or ‘Cuff’ watchstraps made of finest Barenia or Box Calf Leather qualities in the colours jeans blue, capuchin red, black, tin- or natural-coloured. The customizable watch face design inspired by the Cape Cod, Clipper and Espace watches from Hermès allows you to select a numeral display with an Arabic hour marker at 12 only, at 12, 3, 6 and 9, or at all hours.
